Fibwi celebrates ten years as a media group in the Balearic Islands with a gala honouring its journey and ushering in a new chapter

Nearly 400 guests gathered at Amok Mallorca to celebrate a decade of Fibwi TV, Fibwi Radio and FibwiDiario.com at an evening featuring awards, musical performances and new projects.

Fibwi, a Balearic Islands media group encompassing television, radio and digital journalism, celebrated its tenth anniversary with a gala at Amok Mallorca attended by nearly 400 guests, including institutional representatives, business leaders, associations, media professionals, collaborators and prominent figures from Balearic society. The event marked ten years of news and audiovisual content through Fibwi TV, Fibwi Radio and FibwiDiario.com, three media outlets united by a commitment to informing, entertaining and giving a voice to the reality of the islands.

The evening looked back on the main milestones of the past decade through a series of audiovisual features revisiting programmes, images and defining moments in the group's history. These paid tribute to the professionals who have contributed to its development across television, radio and digital media. The celebration also featured a performance by tenor Álvaro Chaves and a DJ set by DJ Sp1der, the stage name of Juan Alcalde, helping create a special and festive atmosphere.

Strong institutional and business representation

The gala was attended by prominent representatives of Balearic institutions, including the Vice-President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Antoni Costa; the President of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, Gabriel Le Senne; the President of the Mallorca Island Council, Llorenç Galmés; the Mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno; the Regional Minister for Enterprise, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro; and Javier Bonet, Palma City Council's Councillor for Sports and Culture.

The event also brought together representatives from the islands' business, association, social and cultural communities, as well as media professionals, collaborators and friends of Fibwi. Their attendance highlighted the group's close ties with Balearic society and with the different sectors shaping the archipelago's economic, social and cultural landscape.

Recognising talent, achievement and commitment to the Balearic Islands

One of the evening's highlights was the presentation of awards to individuals, companies and institutions whose achievements and contributions have made a lasting impact across different areas of Balearic society.

Among the recipients were Dr Antonio María de Lacy Fortuny, recognised for his career in surgery; Marcos Cabotá, for his contribution to cinema; Jorge Dezcallar de Mazarredo, for his diplomatic career; and Guillermo Boscana, for his work promoting sport in the Balearic Islands.

Colonya Caixa Pollença, U Energia, Grupo Kaizen, Lolo Garner, Air Europa and Fundació Sa Nostra were also recognised for their contributions across business, energy, the arts, social initiatives and culture.

The celebration also included a special tribute to the people who have helped shape Fibwi's history: Juan Antonio Bauzá, Biel Ramis, Biel Sánchez, Miguel Ramon, Sebastián García, José María Barrero, Juan Roca, Manuel Molina, Joan Calafat, honoured posthumously, and Joan Monse. Each received an award in recognition of their contribution to television, radio and media in the islands.

Music, gastronomy and prize draws celebrating a decade together

Following the gala, guests enjoyed a gastronomic offering and a live performance by Ben & The Last Boys. The gathering provided an opportunity to share in the celebrations and strengthen ties among institutional representatives, partner companies and professionals who have supported the group over the past ten years.

The event also featured prize draws with prizes provided by partner brands. Highlights included hotel stays at Vibra Hotels, flights with Air Europa and cosmetics gift sets from Perfume's Club, alongside a wide range of products and experiences donated by participating companies.

A new season for television, radio and digital journalism

The tenth anniversary also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Fibwi. The group is entering the new season with fresh projects, formats and content designed to support its continued development and strengthen its presence in the Balearic media landscape.

Fibwi TV, Fibwi Radio and FibwiDiario.com will continue to develop their respective areas of work in a coordinated way, combining audiovisual news, radio content and digital coverage to bring audiences the stories, people and events that define the islands. The group thus reaffirms its commitment to local, community-focused media rooted in Balearic life and open to new ways of informing and entertaining audiences.

The gala will be broadcast soon on Fibwi TV, giving audiences the opportunity to relive the highlights of a particularly significant evening for the group and share in the celebration of its first decade.

Ten years of shared achievement

As Fibwi marks its first ten years, it would like to thank the professionals, collaborators, institutions, companies, organisations and viewers who have supported the project since its beginnings and helped establish its different media outlets.

The company would especially like to thank the sponsors whose collaboration made the gala possible: Autovidal, Fomento del Turismo de Ibiza, Vibra Hotels, Air Europa, Miro Fernando, Lo Music, Perfume's Club, Osteria Sant Francesc, Puig Refrescos, Grupo Damm, Rosa Blanca, Boc de l'Arxiduc, Macià Batle, Softline, Quely, El Paladar, Sangria Larita and Can Juanito.
