resounding success in the 1st Fibwi Illes Balears grassroots football Trophy · Ibiza
On December 30, the final touch was put on a regional football tournament in junior and junior categories that, in its first edition, had the participation of 40 teams from the Balearic Islands.
A total of 586 participants gathered in Sant Antoni de Portmany (Ibiza) during December 27 to 30 in a sporting event, sponsored by Fibwi, O Beach Ibiza, Soft Line, Trasmed and Tirme, which also included a training day and with moments of leisure for the young participants.
The event, organized by Veloviajes, began at dawn on December 27 in the port of Palma, from where more than 700 people, including players, technicians and companions, embarked on a Trasmed boat chartered for the occasion.
On the same day the 27th, the opening ceremony took place at the Sant Antoni municipal football field. The event was attended by Salvador Losa, sports councilor of the Ibiza Island Council, Daniel Sánchez, sports councilor of the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Hall and Alberto Mariano, director of Veloviajes.
On December 28 and 29, the matches of all categories (under-9 youth, under-10 youth, under-11 youth and under-12 youth) were held on the municipal fields of Sant Antoni and Sant Rafel.
On December 29, there was also the training session 'Safe sport, a day to raise awareness about the importance of creating safe and protective spaces for boys, girls and young people', which was held at the CEIP Cervantes in Sant Antoni and given by the Association Gold, Silver and Bronze.
December 30 was the day of the finals and 3rd and 4th place matches. The atmosphere in the stands of the Sant Antoni field was spectacular in some hard-fought matches that were a real spectacle and that demonstrated the high level of football we have in our youth categories.
