MOD Mallorca 2024: A resounding success that consolidates the championship as a European benchmark for urban dance
Last weekend, the Palma de Mallorca Auditorium witnessed a new edition of MOD Mallorca 2024, the international urban dance championship that has become a benchmark in Europe. A total of 12 countries, 182 teams and 1,900 dancers gathered on stage to compete for the title of the best in different urban dance categories, offering the public an unprecedented spectacle of talent, passion and energy.
An explosion of styles and choreographies
For two days, the Auditorium vibrated with an explosion of urban dance styles, from classic Locking, Popping, Whacking and Vogueing to House dance, Ragga - dancehall, Funky, B.boying/B.girling, Krumping, Gansta, Comercial Dance and Hip hop. In addition, the "all styles" category allowed groups to fuse different styles such as contemporary, modern dance, heels or jazz funk, creating unique and surprising choreographies.
Recognition of the best
In the "Adult Master" category, the CITY GROOVE COLLECTIVE team from Girona, led by choreographer Judit Rodríguez, won the €600 prize, while in the "Megacrew" category, the BARKADA team from Rome, led by the choreographer Patrick Ang, repeated on the podium and took the first prize, valued at €1,000. Both awards were presented by Francisco Alcalde, CEO of fibwi, as the official sponsoring company of the event.
