The Internet telecommunications, telephone and radio and television services operator, fibwi, takes another step in the expansion of the group and as a reference media with the incorporation of Radio MARCA as its new sports station. Thus, fibwi is committed to sports and will have the best-rated sports station, with 1.8 million multiplatform audiences and 409,000 sports-loving listeners.

Radio MARCA Baleares will broadcast its sports programming from Monday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a new daily news program, programs specialized in different sports and with the incorporation of a new and large team of collaborators, with space for opinion with the best journalists and sports analysts on the islands. In addition, the weekend will be the turn of the most relevant sports broadcasts and the analysis of information, both national and international.

For Francisco Alcalde, CEO and founder of fibwi, “the fact of announcing the incorporation of Radio MARCA Baleares as a new station belonging to the fibwi Group excites us. We are facing the leading media par excellence in sports topics that has the talent and the best analysts linked to the sports sector, so, without a doubt, we are united by the same common denominator: passion for sports and quality.

Furthermore, Francisco Alcalde assures that “fibwi is in full expansion phase, being the best moment for the company to accept the challenge of assuming the responsibility of implementing, managing, and guaranteeing a broadcast of maximum quality just as we have been contributing to the rest of our broadcasting and television media.”

For his part, Edu García, editorial director of Radio MARCA, assures that with this incorporation "we are starting a new game, launching shirts and goals with a great team that goes all out from minute 1."

“In 2021, Radio Marca aspires to give more play, to have more space, to have more capacity to arrive and add. This is where the association of Radio Marca Baleares with fibwi is framed, with talent that comes together, that mixes well and that has a fundamental challenge: to always be the sports reference on the islands and seven days a week. Adventure and emotions. The best is yet to come,” he says.

Damon Mark, director of Radio MARCA Baleares, welcomes “the new Radio MARCA Baleares” and emphasizes that fibwi “will broadcast all the news about sport in general and will give maximum impact to national and international sporting events.”

For Damon Mark, “being able to reciprocally communicate and inform our local sports information to the outside world, giving it the greatest possible relevance is a milestone for fibwi”

To do this, he states, “we will have a new team of professionals and a completely renewed local programming, where we must highlight a new daily news program, specialized programs in different sports and the incorporation of a new and large team of collaborators. Thus, we get to work to become the benchmark for sports information in the Balearic Islands.”

Regarding the incorporations of Radio MARCA Baleares in fibwi, the sports journalist Roberto Mateo is the reference voice and will be in charge of bringing listeners all the football of the islands, information about Real Mallorca, in addition to directing the opinion and weekly sports talk.

The Radio MARCA announcer considers that “Radio MARCA has reached the best hands it could reach. With a professional team, with seriousness and rigor and with a strong passion for the media. Together, we are going to revolutionize sports journalism in the Balearic Islands,” he concludes.

It should be remembered that Radio MARCA Baleares broadcasts on all the islands. In Mallorca on 91.6 FM, in Menorca on 102.1 FM and in Ibiza on 98.7 FM.
