The Telecommunications operator FIBWI has been awarded as the new provider of the public WiFi access service of the Palma City Council and will be responsible for this service in streets, squares, Casals de barri, Casals de Joves, Cultural Centers, municipal theaters and municipal libraries for the next two years, extendable for three more years, annually.


**Bartomeu Sastre, engineer responsible for Networks and Systems at FIBWI,** has stated that "it is a simple access, which has 95 coverage areas and with latest generation AC Dual Band technology, which will serve both the citizens and visitors who are in the city, thus turning Palma into a 'smart city'.


For her part, the company's Communication and Marketing Director, Sandra Reynés, has assured that from the Telecommunications operator FIBWI "we are very satisfied with the arrival of this new agreement, which coincides with the same period of time." in which we have just managed to implement fiber optics for the entire population of the city.


Thus, this result "allows us to reinforce our presence and further strengthen the current phase of growth and expansion in which our company finds itself. A commitment that places us at the top in terms of technological innovation and quality of service," he concludes.


It should be noted that the service has been operational since this month of December.
